Tuesday's Tip

The cold winter weather and blistering winds often leaves our skin dry and cracked.
It is a known challenge to combat this dry winter skin, but it's actually easier than what many think.
Simply apply the steps below to create soft smooth skin even through the harsh winter winds.

  1. Cleanse Skin Gently
Use warm to lukewarm water while showering and bathing because hot water may further dry the skin. Also use a soap or gel that is extremely moisturizing and good for relieving dry skin. Avoid cleansers with dyes and perfumes at the beginning of the ingredient list.

  2. Moisturize Thoroughly
Immediately after cleansing skin with warm water, pat dry with towel and apply moisturizer to damp skin. Choose a moisturizer that is thick and has natural moisturizing agents such as Shea butter, cocoa butter, and vitamin E. Apply a little pressure while massaging in moisturizer to stimulate blood circulation which releases the skin's natural oils.

  3. Cover Up
The cold winter weather is harsh and drying, so cover the limbs, torso, neck, ears, and head with warm clothing to avoid direct contact. Always wear a lip balm and good quality facial moisturizer before heading outdoors to further protect the skin.

  4. Hydrate & Eat well
Drink the recommended 8 glasses or four 16oz bottles of water daily to keep skin hydrated and toxin free. Also consume foods high in omega fatty acids to further nourish your skin.
