Neiman Marcus + Target Dec 1st

Today was the day...24 designers contributed to over 50 different items available for purchase from both Neiman Marcus & Target.  I reviewed all of the beautiful pieces of clothing, accessories and home goods as soon as they announced this unbelievable set of collaborations.  Sure we're used to the occasional designer collaboration with Target, but today we got to see the variety that 24 amazing designers brought to the table.  Target landed great designers to collaborate with in the past like Jason Wu, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Luella Bartley, and Tracy Feith.  Be on the look out because Prabal Gurung is scheduled for a Target collaboration this Spring 2013.

I had December 1st in the back of my brain and was trying not to forget because of my love affair with Marchesa dresses.  If you've been following along here since last Spring you know that a Marchesa dress even made it on one of my Wednesday Wish Lists.

Beauty done right yet again by Marchesa!

I know what you're all thinking...Marchesa made a women's dress in this collaboration? Not quite...
This is one time that I actually am soooooo thankful that I'm petite because Marchesa made this beautiful dress for Target and Neiman Marcus' girls' departments.  Being on the West Coast I knew that it would start being sold on Dec 1st at 12am ET.  So, lucky for me I could've started shopping at 9pm (if I had remembered)!!!!!  But I woke up at 3am for the 2nd night in a row and could not go back to sleep!  It wasn't until around 4:30 that I remembered this phenomenal set of collaborations were on sale!  Thank God for smart phones.  I first checked on Neiman Marcus' site and there were no size L left of the Marchesa girl's dress.  A slight panic came over me I must admit, that is until I checked Target's site.

The waiting game has begun. I hope that a girl's L will fit this petite mama. My only concern is that it will cut under the armpits. The biggest part of me lies below the waist and the cut of this dress is very forgiving so I figure I'll be good down there and if it's short...all the better!

P.S. Even better is that Gina had given me cold hard cash for an early Christmas present!!!! So thank you Ms. East Coast...love you.

With Love from SoCal,

XO

  1. I must say I was a bit disappointed by the collection. I didn't like anything but that's just me.

  2. i bought the marchesa dress in large (i usually wear xs/s in adult women) and the neckline was too high (i felt like i was being chocked) and the proportions were not good. hope it fits you better than me!! :)
